We live in a rapidly-changing world. Many creatures we once hailed as friends or inhabitants of our gardens, woods, wealds and waters have disappeared or are in the process of being eradicated. This colourful book not only teaches the alphabet but introduces many wild and domestic animals.
Each letter in the Animal Alphabet performs six valuable “learning-tool” functions at once:
- Each sentence starts with a child’s name, thus introducing thirteen boys and thirteen girls.
- Each sentence introduces a different type of creature.
- Each sentence contains an article that rhymes with the creature, making both more memorable.
- Each sentence repeats the key letter a number of times, using it in different forms and pronunciations where appropriate.
- Each sentence contains two specific actions, thereby introducing the child to fifty-two separate types of action.
- Each letter has an appropriate illustration, making the whole sentence more memorable.
