Crossed Lines
(An anthology)

I have lived in four countries, in large mansions, in normal houses and in miserable, small rooms. I have had many jobs and three different careers. I wrote solemn poems at university, fantastical poems for my children, prickly poems about insects and comical poems about ageing. This anthology represents both the diversity of my life and of my interests. My poems deal with love and sex, politics and pollution, romance and war, miracles and mountains, emotions and the environment.
Main lines contains poems of love and romance; Guidelines deals with aspects of living life right; Hard lines pays tribute to departed trees, animals and insects; while Land lines carries the reader from South Africa to Spain. In Battle lines I attack human incompetence, arrogance, greed and prejudice: then I switch to tongue-in-cheek fun-poking in Sidelines. Lifelines holds a mixed bag, both in emotions and in construction: while Plumb lines contains three humorous and quite unusual tit bits on sex.
