A woman attends a circle of esoteric thinkers who want to change the world through love. Her hard-boiled husband mocks her, but when he is accosted by murderous robbers, he inadvertently uses her approach to save himself. For a short while he uses his newfound power for the good of his environment; then he misuses it - partly to punish those who have erred in his personal opinion, and partly to pleasure himself. The results are dire until the leader of the circle reveals the truth in its purest sense.
